PRESS DECLARATION
We stand with Palestine
“The reason why WIHU was established is the Palestinian cause.”
Palestine and Gaza have been the battlefield of the struggle between truth and falsehood since the War of Talut and Goliath. The cruelties and tortures committed after the occupation of Jerusalem during the Crusades are still in our minds.
Like a dagger stuck in our chest by modern crusaders for the last 70 years, the Israeli terrorist state continues to oppress, torture and kill.
In 2010, Israel was attacking Gaza again. They were bombing every part of Gaza. As the Sağlık-Der team, we went to help Gaza. On our return from Gaza, a delegation of the Arab Doctors Association welcomed us in Cairo. The head of the delegation was Rafet el Sayed, who later served as Deputy Minister of Health in Egypt. To us, "“You see the situation. We are trying to help Palestine as much as we can. But Muslims are shattered. A world-class organization is needed. We propose to you, the Muslims of Turkey, to establish the World Islamic Health Union as the standard bearer of Islam. You are from Necmettin Erbakan's organization. President of Sağlık-Der, Dr. As Kasım Sezen, we give you the leadership of this work. They said, "We will be involved in this with all our strength."
After returning to Turkey, we consulted in our organizations. We consulted with our teacher Erbakan. We consulted with our esteemed president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. And in 2016, we gathered in Istanbul with 400 delegates from 65 countries of the world. We established the World Islamic Health Union.
Today, the World Islamic Health Union operates in 96 countries today.
We are coming to the aid of Muslims in the ongoing Palestinian-Israeli war. And we know that doctors, human rights defenders and healthcare workers throughout the Islamic world are excited to go to Gaza and save a life.
Our Prophet; “If you see evil, correct it with your hands. If you cannot do this, reveal its evil with your tongue. "If you cannot afford this, hate it with your heart," he says. Today, we hate and cry out to stop Israeli brutality and we express that we stand with our Palestinian brothers in spirit and deed to prevent it. We are waiting to enter Gaza through the Rafah Border Gate if allowed by the Egyptian government.
